Recent ABPM Study about Resistant Hypertension

This expands on the recent HealthDay piece we noted a few days ago, but according to a Heartwire release on Medscape Today, a recent study about ABPM - ambulatory blood pressure monitoring - shows that nighttime blood pressure is a better predictor of cardiovascular risk than daytime blood pressure.

Even more, the study further substantiates claims that ABPM is a much better measure and predictor of risk than the blood pressure reading taken in a single doctor’s office visit. The latter is just too small a sample size, and can be skewed for many reasons - only one of which is that some people get nervous in doctor’s offices!

Another good tip for monitoring hypertension and blood pressure readings!
